Walkinstown Dental Surgery is a family practice based in Dublin 12 serving Walkinstown and the surrounding suburbs. If you need a dentist in Tallaght, Dublin 12, or Terenure and beyond, we can help. Established in 1970 by Dr. Fergal Whelan, since 1995, it is owned and run by Dr. Peter Coffey. Our focus is on giving you professional and comprehensive dental care in a calm and relaxed environment.
Your long-term dental health is our ultimate goal. We’re happy to apply short term solutions where required but ensuring you and your family maintain long-term oral health is what we see as crucial. And we live in the real world and understand all families have to budget for their health and medical care. With this in mind, while we do have prices listed for all treatments, we will deal with all cases individually and all prices are firmly agreed prior to treatment.

All your family members are catered for with an easily-accessed ground floor surgery and free parking available right outside. With state-of-the art equipment ranging from an x-ray machine to premium dental materials, delivering first-class care is our focus. But like all good service providers, our practice develops over time and we are continually updating our knowledge to ensure you receive the best treatment.

Meet the team
Dr. Peter Coffey – A graduate of Trinity College Dublin (B Dent science), Peter has nearly 20 years’ clinical experience. As a general dentist with a specialist interest in orthodontics and implant dentistry as well as general practice, he is a member of the Dental Association of Ireland and registered with the Irish Dental Council. He is also registered with the British Dental Council and a member of the British Dental association. With a continuing focus on professional development, he is also a member of the Association of Dental Implantology. Peter also lives close by with his wife and four children. A keen sportsman, he’s a member of his local GAA club and rugby clubs.
Laura Gray – With us for over ten years, Laura is our receptionist and office manager. An experienced administrator, she also greets our clients with a warm welcome and a friendly smile.
Amanda Naylor – Our registered dental nurse, Amanda has been with the practice for five years. Working alongside Peter, she assists in the care of patients including everything from a simple check up to help during advanced specialist treatments. Amanda will ensure all clients are put at their ease and feel comfortable and relaxed during their visit.
